Why I feel so passionate about infant massage

I have worked with new families for over a decade- as a Certified Birth and Postpartum Doula and then labor and delivery and public health nurse.

When I became a mama last year, knowing infant massage to practice on my infant was one of the high points of my postpartum.

Having these skills will help see you through the 4th trimester and out the other side with resiliency, love, and a strong bond with your baby.

I began supporting families as a birth doula in my early 20's. I fell in love with birthwork and went on to become a a postpartum doula, homebirth midwife's assistant, and placenta encapsulation specialist. In 2017 I graduated with my Bachelor's of Science in Nursing from California State University, Chico.

For the next 4 years I worked as a labor and delivery and postpartum nurse. As happened to many of us, 2020 brought a new lens on my  life, and I stepped away from this role. I began my career in public health nursing, working with high risk pregnant families, and children with special health care needs.

It was in this Public Health RN role that I completed my Infant Massage Instructor Training through Loving Touch International. I saw first-hand the benefits, when I shared these skills with the families I worked with. I gained experience teaching families with healthy and medically complex infants.

In 2023, I became a mama and the culmination of all my experience and knowledge did not prepare me for the humbling adventure that is motherhood. Out of all of my previous trainings and knowledge, being able to practice massage on my own infant was one of the most influential and positive memories I have of my 4th trimester.

I can't wait to help you have your optimal postpartum experience with the tools of infant massage!
